Chiefs rookie Skyy Moore reveals which NFL receivers he models his game after
To become a great receiver in the NFL, young players often look to those who have come before them for inspiration.
Kansas City Chiefs rookie WR Skyy Moore is no different. He studied different NFL receivers to this point in his career, taking pieces of their game and adapting them to his own. It in turn helped propel Moore to a career year at Western Michigan with over 1,300 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns in 2021.
Speaking to media personality, podcast host and YouTuber Chris Henderson at a recent event, Moore spoke a bit about the players whom he’s drawn inspiration from. There are some players that he likes the way they do certain things, but he specifically named four different NFL receivers who he has taken things from.
“I take from Stefon Diggs, Davante Adams, AB (Antonio Brown), Keenan Allen,” Moore said. “You know, all of those dudes.”
That’s hardly a bad list of players to model your game after. Recently, Moore has been down in Texas training and getting extra work in with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. When he was at OTAs and mandatory minicamp, he tried to take some cues from the veteran receivers in the building as he looks to continue to push his game to the next level.
“Right now, I’m taking from JuJu (Smith-Schuster), Mecole (Hardman), MVS (Marquez Valdes-Scantling),” Moore continued. “I’ll take from everybody’s game.”
When training camp begins in July, expect Moore to continue learning from the veterans and adapting his game for the NFL level.
