Chicago Bears at Kansas City Chiefs: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 3 game

Editor’s note: Follow all the NFL Week 3 action with USA TODAY Sports’ live coverage.

It will be a battle between two teams at separate ends of the NFL hierarchy when the Kansas City Chiefs (1-1) host the Chicago Bears (0-2).

Chicago seemed to be an improved team after having the worst record in the NFL last season, but it seems to just be headed toward another year of struggles. The Bears let Baker Mayfield light them up for 317 yards while the offense continued to make mistakes.

The defending Super Bowl champions were glad to have Travis Kelce and Chris Jones back with the team against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and while it resulted in a win, Kansas City didn't look impressive offensively. It's still early in the season, so Patrick Mahomes and company will look to reset against the Chicago defense.

Lorenzo Reyes: Chiefs 29, Bears 9

There’s no cure for a struggling offense quite like facing a defense that gets gashed in the passing game, can’t get off the field and gives up tons of third downs and is allowing more than 30 points per game. Take Kansas City with confidence because the Bear offense isn’t much better.

Tyler Dragon: Chiefs 27, Bears 16

Offenses on both teams have sputtered out the gate. Justin Fields is playing unsettled in the Bears offense. The Chiefs don’t have a No. 1 wide receiver, but Patrick Mahomes makes up for a lot of Kansas City’s deficiencies. Plus, the Chiefs have Chris Jones back on defense.

Victoria Hernandez: Chiefs 24, Bears 10

Last week ... The Chiefs had us in the first half, not gonna lie. But they found their rhythm with Chris Jones and Travis Kelce back. They will be hungry for their first home win and won’t have a problem beating the lowly Bears.

Jordan Mendoza: Chiefs 34, Bears 13

The Chiefs offense has been all out of sorts through two weeks, but a game against a team allowing 32.5 points per game (second worst in the NFL) should be the right medicine for this team to gel together. The defense played great against the Jaguars, and Justin Fields is in for another long day against a strong unit.
