Cherry Hill Atlantic baseball makes U.S. final of Senior League World Series

The Cherry Hill Atlantic 16U baseball team will play in the U.S. final at the Senior League World Series in Easley, South Carolina, after a walk-off win on Tuesday.

Cherry Hill defeated South Carolina District 1 6-5 on Austin Hanni’s game-winning hit to improve to 2-0 in the tournament. Aiden Ryder threw 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Ryder also had multiple hits at the plate, as did Tristan Perry and Andrew Bechtel.

“We’re exactly where we dreamed we’d be when this ride began in Cherry Hill,” Cherry Hill manager Christian Carkeek said in a press release. “We have put ourselves in the best position to win a tournament that has the best Senior League teams in the world.”

Cherry Hill will face the winner of the South Carolina District 1-Central East Maui Little League game, which takes place Thursday at noon, in the U.S. final on Friday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN+. The victor of that contest will play the winner of the international bracket for the world championship on Aug. 5 at 4 p.m.
