Cheboygan area high school football scores and updates for Week 5 of the season

CHEBOYGAN – We’re about halfway through the season now.

With Week 5 approaching, there’s more intriguing contests on tap with Cheboygan area high school football teams.

On Friday, Onaway (3-1, 1-1 Ski Valley 8-Player), winners of three straight, hosts Gaylord St. Mary (3-1, 3-0), which has also won its last three games. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Inland Lakes (3-1) heads back to the Upper Peninsula face Munising (1-3) in a 7 p.m. clash on Friday, while Pellston (1-3) takes on Mesick in a 7 p.m. home matchup on Friday.

Head coach Eddy Szymoniak, quarterback Brady Gapczynski and the Onaway Cardinals will look to earn a fourth straight win when they host Gaylord St. Mary on Friday.

Rounding out Week 5 are the Cheboygan Chiefs (0-4), who face Pewamo-Westphalia (3-1) in a 2:30 p.m. Saturday game at Central Michigan University’s Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The Cheboygan game can be heard on WCBY Radio 1240 AM and 98.1 FM at 2:30 p.m. Mike Grisdale will call the action for the Chiefs. The game can also be streamed online at www.bigcountrygold.com.
