The UCF Knights are hitting the road as hard as any team in college football on Saturday when they travel nearly 3,000 miles to face Boise State on the blue turf in Idaho.
UCF started its first season in the Big 12 with a 56-6 win over Kent State in Orlando on Aug. 31. Quarterback John Rhys Plumlee threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, but he also tossed two interceptions and lost a fumble. Running back RJ Harvey ran for 84 yards and a touchdown with a 50-yard receiving TD. Fellow senior Johnny Richardson ran for 100 yards, while Florida transfer Demarkcus Bowman picked up another one of the Knights' five rushing scores.
The Broncos were on the other end of a Week 1 blowout, losing 56-19 to then-No. 11 Washington. Like UCF, Boise State likes to run, with mobile QB Taylen Green, reigning Mountain West freshman of the year, and a host of running backs led by senior George Holani.
