OU and Kansas first met on a football field back on Nov. 7, 1903. The host Jayhawks won 17-5 that day, but the series has pretty much been all Sooners ever since the first decade of last century.
Nearly 120 years later, the longtime conference rivals will meet once again Saturday in Lawrence, Kansas, perhaps for the final time before OU leaves the Big 12 next summer for the Southeastern Conference.
The Sooners (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) enter as the No. 6-ranked team in the country and a College Football Playoff contender in coach Brent Venables' second season at the helm.
The Jayhawks (5-2, 2-2) are no longer a league doormat under third-year coach Lance Leipold.
Still, KU faces a tall task trying to snap a 18-game losing streak to the Sooners, who own a 79-22-6 record all-time against the Jayhawks.
