Chandler Jones sets franchise sack record, pays tribute to Freddie Joe Nunn

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Chandler Jones had five sacks in Week 1, a tremendous start to the season. With those five sacks, he was at 66 as a member of the Cardinals, just behind Freddie Joe Nunn’s 66.5 to lead the franchise.

After a drought of several weeks, Jones finally got another sack.

He took down San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for his six sack of the year, which gave him the franchise record.

Rather than the signature windmill celebration he has done for years, instead, he paid tribute to Nunn, who died last month. He revealed a T-shirt with a picture of Nunn and a message saying “Rest in Peace.”

Nunn had 66.5 sacks in 131 games for the Cardinals.

Jones now has six sacks on the season and is the franchise leader after only 76 games.
