Manchester City will host FC Copenhagen in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second-leg clash. Manchester City currently leads 3-1 on aggregate.

Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola has emphasized to his team the importance of staying focused on their goal of reaching the quarterfinals of the Champions League. This is despite a critical match against Liverpool this weekend, who are currently at the top of the English Premier League table. Both teams are separated by only one point in the first and second spot in the league standings.

FC Copenhagen, currently third in the Danish Superliga, just suffered a 2-0 loss to FC Midtjylland. They face a tough challenge against City, who are in exceptional form at the moment.

The Standard: Man City to win 2-1

Jonathan Gorrie writes: "It would be a huge shock to see City throw such a healthy lead away, even with rotation in mind."

Staff writes: "Although this team has improved since last season, Copenhagen produced under 0.5 xG in both meetings with City last year and failed to score in both meetings. That means across all three meetings, Copenhagen have scored one goal off only one expected, per fbref.com. However, the first leg performance against City produced an outlier from Copenhagen’s defense. In two group stage meetings with Bayern Munich this year, they allowed only 1.6 expected goals. With City looking ahead to Liverpool, expect their offense to produce a smaller output compared to the first leg."

Brett Pund writes: "If we’re being honest, City have more than likely wrapped up this tie being up two goals and heading home. Meanwhile, the Cityzens have Liverpool this weekend in the Premier League in one of the biggest matches of the season. I feel Pep is going to want to rest some of his key attackers like Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and De Bruyne. With that in mind, I believe this gives us betting value on the total. So, my best bet is for the match to fall under the total of 3.5 goals at -110, which I would play to -130."

Alex Jack writes: "After an impressive 3-1 win at Parken Stadium in the first leg, it would be little surprise to see a similar scoreline in Manchester on Wednesday with City winning and both teams getting on the scoresheet. City have been outstanding once again in Europe, winning all of their seven games in the Champions League so far. However, despite their perfect winning run, City have only managed to keep one clean sheet in that seven-game spell in the competition. With that in mind, it would be little surprise to see Copenhagen get on the scoresheet once again but City should have the firepower to win on the night."
