Chad Johnson salutes newly retired Ryan Fitzpatrick

Ryan Fitzpatrick will go down as one of the best journeyman / backup quarterbacks in NFL history. Fitzpatrick announced his retirement this week after 17 seasons in the league with nine different stops along the way.

One of those stops was with the Cincinnati Bengals, his second team after spending the first two seasons of his career in St. Louis.

Fitzpatrick spent two years in Cincinnati, including 12 starts in 2008 in place of the injured Carson Palmer. That allowed him to work with one of the greats in Bengals history, Chad Johnson.

Johnson showed Fitzpatrick love on Twitter after his retirement announcement.

Along with the Rams and Bengals, Fitzpatrick made stops with the Bills, Titans, Texans, Jets, Buccaneers, Dolphins and Washington.
