Horford signed a four-year, $109 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on July 10, 2019 after the Celtics renounced their free-agent exception rights. The deal included $102 million guaranteed with an annual average salary of $27.25 million, per Spotrac.

On Dec. 8, 2020, Horford was traded to Oklahoma City. After the 2020-21 season ended, Horford returned to the Celtics via a trade on June 18, 2021.

During the 2022-23 season with the Celtics, Horford earned a base salary of $26.5 million with $19.5 million guaranteed. On Dec. 1, 2022, Horford and the Celtics reportedly agreed to a two-year, $20 million contract extension that will take him through the 2024-25 season.

Al Horford's college career

The 36th-ranked prospect in Rivals.com's Top 150 for the high school class of 2004, Horford landed at the University of Florida -- alongside future NBAers Corey Brewer and Joakim Noah -- out of Grand Ledge High School in Michigan.

Horford chose to play for the Gators over Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State.

Starting at center his freshman year, Horford helped Florida win the 2005 SEC Tournament and the 2006 SEC Tournament. In 2006, the Gators beat UCLA to win the NCAA Championship. Florida won the NCAA Championship again in 2007. Horford was named the SEC Tournament MVP and AP Third-team All-American in 2007.

Over three collegiate seasons, Horford averaged 10.3 points per game, 1.7 assists per game and 7.9 rebounds per game. He also had a 61.9% free throw percentage and a 58.6% field goal percentage for the Gators.

After completing his junior season with the Gators, Horford declared for the NBA Draft.

Tito Horford played in the NBA for three years for Milwaukee and Washington. He then played abroad in Europe and the Dominican Republic.

Horford has multiple siblings. Jon, his younger brother, played basketball at Florida and Michigan. He is currently running for Michigan House of Representatives. Anna, Horford's younger sister, hosts the "Horford Happy Hour" podcast as a social media celebrity and member of CLNS Media Network.
