Celtics' Brown transported to hospital after scary fall

The Boston Celtics' Jaylen Brown fell hard in Thursday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves late in the third quarter and the team announced he was out for the game with concussion symptoms after appearing to hit his head at Target Center.

The 21-year-old shooting guard was fouled while finishing a dunk over the Timberwolves' Andrew Wiggins with 1:31 remaining in the quarter. A stretcher was brought out a short time later after staff from both teams attended to him.

He walked off the floor himself, but was later transported to a local hospital, per NBC Sports Boston's Ryan Draper.

"Jaylen Brown currently being transported to hospital after fall in 3rd quarter," Draper tweeted.

Brown finished the night with 14 points and five rebounds in 28 minutes.

Brown, the third overall pick in 2016 out of Cal, is averaging 14.1 points a game this season while averaging 31 minutes. His play has been a lift for the Celtics, 46-20 after Thursday's win, as they hope to repeat as the top seed in the Eastern Conference once the playoffs begin.
