Celtics alum Shane Larkin gets 13 points, 9 assists for Turkey in 101-87 EuroBasket win over Bulgaria

Former Boston Celtics floor general Shane Larkin helped lift his Turkish National Team to a 101-87 win over the Bulgarian National Team on Saturday in another solid victory for Turkey in Group A of EuroBasket play despite a slow start in the first half.

The Miami product put up 13 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, and a steal in 28:35 minutes of floor time, turning the ball over just once, and committing two personal fouls. The Celtics alumnus had a bit of a rough night shooting the ball, going just 2-of-8 from the field overall, 1-of-6 from 3-point range, and a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe to help make up for his yips from elsewhere on the court.

“I didn’t shoot the ball well tonight,” said Larkin in an interview with Eurohoops after the game. “So, I just tried to start attacking more in the second half.”
