CCFC falls against Atlanta United 2
Mar. 25—KENNESAW, Ga. — Carolina Core FC lost 4-0 against Atlanta United 2 in MLS NEXT Pro men's soccer Sunday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
The Foxes outshot Atlanta 20-13 for the match — highlighted by four shots each by Carlos Mario Diaz and Jacob Evans. But Atlanta (1-1-0) netted a pair of goals in quick succession by Luke Brennan in the 24th and 26th minutes.
Javier Armas added a score in the 33rd minute to build a 3-0 lead into halftime. Karim Tmimi tacked on the final score in the 79th minute.
Alex Sutton made five saves in goal as CCFC moved to 0-1-1 in MLS NEXT Pro matches. The Foxes will continue MLS NEXT Pro play Sunday on the road against New England Revolution II at 3 p.m.
