CBS Sports offers bold prediction regarding Pac-12 QBs

The Pac-12 Conference is looking more loaded than it was last season, and transfers and new coaches have helped change that.

Kenny Dillingham is at Arizona State and has Notre Dame transfer Drew Pyne at quarterback; Cam Rising, Michael Penix Jr., Jayden de Laura, Bo Nix, Cam Ward and Caleb Williams all returned to their respective programs as well.

Sam Jackson transferred from TCU to Cal, and DJ Uiagalelei transferred from Clemson to Oregon State in another massive addition. Oh, and then there’s Shedeur Sanders, who followed his father Deion Sanders from Jackson State and looks ready to make the jump from the FCS to the Power Five.

The Pac-12 could very well have some of the best quarterbacks in the country, and we didn’t even mention UCLA’s five-star incoming freshman Dante Moore. That’s just how much talent is at the position.

Chip Patterson of CBS Sports revealed some of the biggest storylines ahead of the 2023 college football season with one of his “bold” predictions being that the Pac-12 will have the best quarterback play in the country:

The Pac-12 has the reigning Heisman Trophy winner at USC (Caleb Williams), high-level power conference starters at Utah (Cam Rising), Washington (Michael Penix Jr.) and Oregon (Bo Nix) plus a collection of transfers and freshmen that either carry or once carried blue-chip projections from scouts and talent evaluators. UCLA has both with former Kent State QB Collin Schlee and five-star freshman Dante Moore, while Jaden Rashada, who created major buzz during the recruiting period, has landed at Arizona State and former Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei is seeking a fresh start as he competes for the starting job at Oregon State. Throw in Shedeur Sanders and the opportunity for him to be the face of Colorado’s offense, and it’s clear the Pac-12 will start the season with the most interesting, and perhaps best collection of quarterbacks in the country.

Defenses in the Pac-12 are going to have all sorts of headaches just about every week, and that’s only regarding the quarterback position.
