Catch a wave at the new surfer-friendly event coming soon to Ocean City, Maryland.
Red Bull Foam Wreckers is taking Ocean City by storm on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 40th Street beach.
The surfing event series, produced by Red Bull and Catch Surf, comes from the mind of “freesurfer” Jamie O’Brien. Those who participate may only use foam (soft-top) surfboards.

Each participant will spin the “Wheel of Shred” to determine which Catch Surf soft-board model they will be using. Then, they will paddle out alongside 6-10 others and proceed to stake their claim as the most unique soft-board surfer of the next 15 minutes, said Red Bull Foam Wreckers in a news release.
Special prizes are also up for grabs. Those who showcase the most creative moves throughout the day will have the chance to win a prize. Red Bull Foam Wreckers — deemed an anti-surf, surf contest — is open to all. Anyone who enters can win, and having a great time is the only goal, the release stated.
Surf stars such as Ben Gravy and Rob Kelly will be in attendance. Gravy is set to participate and emcee the event.
