Cheboygan's Emerson Eustice voted Daily Tribune Athlete of the Week for April 29-May 4
CHEBOYGAN – Cheboygan senior softball player Emerson Eustice has been voted the Daily Tribune’s Athlete of the Week for April 29-May 4.
Emerson won this week's poll by capturing 49.87 percent of the vote, while Onaway junior softball player Charlotte Box took second with 32.11 percent of the vote.
Voting began on Tuesday morning and closed at 11 p.m. on Thursday night. Over 1,100 votes were cast during this week’s poll.
Next week’s Athlete of the Week nominees will be revealed on Tuesday, May 14.
Here were this week’s nominees:
Emerson Eustice, Cheboygan Softball – Finished with three hits – including her second home run of the season – and struck out eight batters and picked up a pitching win against Sault Ste. Marie.
Cash DePauw, Inland Lakes Baseball – Earned a pitching victory against Alpena, striking out six and allowing just one hit in six innings.
Tyler Hingston, Mackinaw City Baseball – Went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored in a win over Atlanta.
Charlotte Box, Onaway Softball – Recorded three hits, five RBIs and three runs scored and struck out eight batters in a pitching win over Pellston.
Lucas Livermore, Pellston Baseball – Had a hit and two RBIs during a game against Mackinaw City.
