lohud Top 10
(Includes games played through April 14)
1. Rye (3-1) — A committed Garnets defense is making it awfully difficult to get to goalie Ty Ramachandran, who has only given up 14 goals in four game. Previously: 2
2. Pleasantville (5-1) — It's always good to have options. The Panthers have Daniel Picart, Nick Reich, Hank McCourtney, Aidan Cotter, Erik Coleman and Michael Hundzynski. Previously: 5
3. Yorktown (5-1) — This is where it gets interesting. Next up for the Huskers are Darien, Wilton, Cold Spring Harbor, Mamaroneck and Rye. Previously: 3
4. Iona Prep (5-2) — It will take a perfect game and maybe a fortunate bounce Thursday for the Gaels to win at St. Anthony's, which is fifth in the USA Lacrosse Top 25. Previously: 4
5. Somers (7-0) — Matt Mayfield is keeping the likes of Mac Sullivan, Miguel Iglesias, Ryan Brush, Graden Carr and Mason Kelly well fed. Previously: 6
6. John Jay-Cross River (5-2) — The momentum will increase exponentially if the Wolves figure out a way to dispatch Rye. Previously: 8
7. Mamaroneck (3-2) — We're going to know a lot more about this group after the Tigers close out the week against Rye and Wantagh. Previously: 1
8. Greeley (3-0) — More can be learned from a five-goal loss to Cold Spring Harbor than a string of blowout wins over struggling opponents. Previously: 7
9. Bronxville (2-3) — Luke Arrighi has been making stop after stop after stop. If the Broncos clean up the miscues that are dead-ending possessions, they'll become even more of a threat. Previously: 9
10. Carmel (4-1) — This is new territory for the Rams, who are going to have to find a few more playmakers on the defensive end if they want to stay here. Previously: NR
On the bubble: Haldane (2-4); Scarsdale (4-4); Stepinac (2-5); Tappan Zee (4-1); Westlake (5-0).
