Cardinals sign tryout CB Tae Hayes, release 2 players

The Arizona Cardinals made a few roster moves Monday following the completion of rookie minicamp. One of the five players in camp on a tryout basis was signed to the 90-man offseason roster.

The team announced the signing of cornerback Tae Hayes.

Hayes is a 5-9, 188-pound cornerback who went undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2019. He has spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings. He has appeared in six games, has 10 tackles, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery.

He had four interceptions in each of his final two years of college.

Arizona now has nine cornerbacks on the roster:

The Cardinals also released a pair of players — safety Chris Miller and receiver Darece Roberson.

There are now 89 players on the roster, which suggests another player signing will be forthcoming in the next few days.

The Cardinals will open organized team activities (OTAs) next week.
