Cardinals' Colt McCoy explains why he didn't throw for one day in practice last week

Colt McCoy was on the practice field throwing passes Monday on Day 5 of Arizona Cardinals training camp, something he didn't do one day last week.

McCoy, who at present is running the Cardinals' first team offense, said that not throwing for a day was part of the plan he'd help put together for him in camp. It doesn't appear to be anything to do with an elbow injury and concussion symptoms he dealt with late last season.

"We all collectively kind of put a plan together. Last week, I had a day like that. Probably have one coming up. Just being smart," McCoy said. "I feel great. I feel like the guys have come in here after the break, and really have been sharp. (Offensive coordinator Drew Petzing) is asking a lot of us, he's putting a lot on my plate, putting a lot on the offensive line, receivers. We're switching around doing a lot of things to see what we can handle."
