Iowa sophomore Sam Petersen got the scoring started for the Braves in the second with a two-run home run. Petersen finished the night 2-for-3 with that big fly, a double, four RBIs and a run scored. In the ensuing at-bat, Virginia Tech's Garrett Michel went back-to-back with a solo shot of his own. Alabama's Bryce Eblin (1-for-2, two RBIs, two runs), and Coastal Carolina's Derek Bender (2-for-4, three RBIs), also added RBI hits in the inning. Clemson's Tristan Smith earned the win for the Braves with his four-inning, one-run start. Stanford's Trevor Haskins went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in the loss, and both Miami's Jack Scanlon and Tulane's Teo Banks added an RBI.

Yarmouth-Dennis 7, Harwich Mariners 4

Hunter Hines (Mississippi State) added two more RBIs to his tally, giving him a league leading 34 on the season, to lead the Red Sox (17-12-1) to the win over the Mariners (14-17-1). Also aiding the Red Sox in the win was Vanderbilt's RJ Austin, who finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run, and North Carolina's Casey Cook, who went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Purdue's Khal Stevens picked up the win for the Red Sox after going 5.2 innings in his start, with just two earned runs allowed. Arizona State's Kevin Karstetter did most of the damage for the Mariners in his Cape League debut. He went 3-for-4 on the night, and drove in three of the Mariners four runs.

Chatham Anglers 6, Wareham Gatemen 3

Three runs in the top of the 10 inning put the Anglers (8-18-1) out of reach of the Gatemen (11-17-2), to snap their three-game losing streak. Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek (USC), scored what proved to be the game-winning run, scoring on an errant throw in the top of the tenth. He finished the night 2-for-5 with two runs scored. JJ Wetherholt (West Virginia) then provided some much needed insurance runs with a two-RBI single. Jack Seppings (Brown) had a great outing out of the bullpen to get the game to extra innings. The righty went 4.1 innings, and struck out seven without allowing a run. Florida's Deric Fabian had a big day at the plate for Chatham, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs. Arizona State's Nick McLain had three hits and a run to lead the Gatemen in the loss. Ohio State's Josh Stevenson had a double and an RBI.

Hyannis Harbor Hawks 10, Falmouth Commodores 2

The top four hitters in the Hyannis batting order did all the damage in the Harbor Hawks' (18-12-2) win over the Commodores (14-15-2). The quartet of Nick Mitcher (Western Illinois), Zach Ehrhard (Oklahoma State), Cameron Smith (Florida State), and Zachary York (Grand Canyon), combined to go 7-for-18 with two home runs, drove in all ten Hyannis runs, and scored seven themselves. Smith's two-run shot in the first inning put Hyannis up early, and was his fifth of the season. Lipscomb junior Hayden Frank scattered seven hits across four innings of one-run baseball, and struck out six. Wallace Community College's Kade Snell had three hits and an RBI in the loss for Falmouth.

Orleans Firebirds 4, Brewster Whitecaps 1

Making his first start of the season after nine relief appearances, Northwood University's Derek Clark pitched seven innings, his longest outing of the year. The senior only allowed a single earned run, and struck out six to earn the win. He gave way to Harvard junior Sean Matson, who recorded the final six outs to get the save, with three strikeouts. Matson has yet to give up a run in his 11 outings this season. Drew Faurot (University of Central Florida), had a hit and two RBIs. Virginia's Justin Rubin also chipped in with a run and an RBI. Indiana's Brock Tibbitts drove in the only run of the game for the Whitecaps, while Florida State's James Tibbs had a three hit night.
