Tulane's staff includes special teams coordinator and former Illini assistant Greg McMahon. The pride of Rantoul is in his first year on Willie Fritz's staff.

The Green Wave had a monster 2022 season, earning a New Year's Six bowl bid and stunning Southern California in the Cotton Bowl.

Though Tulane lost a bunch of talented players to the NFL and graduation, it is again playing at a high level.

The team is 8-1 with the lone loss against Top 10 Mississippi. Win out and the Green Wave are going back to a big bowl. likely the Fiesta.

Success tends to follow McMahon, who has won a Super Bowl with the Saints and a national championship with LSU.

He isn't the only former Illini coach on the Tulane staff. Dan Roushar, who did two stints in Champaign-Urbana, works with the Tulane running backs.
