Calvary defeats Bishop Walsh 2-1

Oct. 12—CRESAPTOWN — A late goal by Elijah Ziler was the difference in Calvary's 2-1 home win over Bishop Walsh on Monday.

The Eagles (8-9-1) won despite the Spartans (3-6-1) finishing with a 14-13 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in corners.

Riley O'Brien gave Calvary the lead three minutes into the game off a Reed Jackson assist. Ofek Cohen-Inbar responded off a Jackson Miller assist to tie the game for Bishop Walsh about 10 minutes into the first half.

Tied at 1 at halftime, the game appeared to be heading to overtime until with about six minutes left, Blake Dwire sent a pass to Ziler who scored from about the 18-yard box for the eventual game-winner.

Both starting goalies recorded double digit saves. Calvary's Levi Carrington recorded 12 while Bishop Walsh's Minh Lee saved 10 shots.

Calvary's regular season concludes on Thursday at home against Northern.

Bishop Walsh hosted Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday and is at Shalom on Friday.
