Caitlin Clark claims another record becoming the top-selling athlete of the NIL era

It is official. There is no bigger athlete on the planet at this moment than Caitlin Clark. She is the face of women’s basketball, college basketball and now collegiate sports with her newest feat. Caitlin Clark had taken over the women’s basketball game and now she has taken over the sales side of college athletics.

The Iowa Hawkeyes’ point guard broke the NCAA women’s all-time scoring record last week and it has seen her become the top-selling name, image and likeness licensing athlete since the beginning of apparel sales for athletes, per Fanatics and On3.

Not only did Clark take over the top spot in NIL athlete sales, she did so in just 24 hours after breaking the record. In the immediate aftermath of the record falling, Fanatics saw more Caitlin Clark sales than any other athlete totaled in nearly two years.

On3’s NIL valuation has Clark valued at $910,000, which features a $93,000 increase in value since she broke the record. She is No. 3 in women’s basketball NIL valuation and No. 30 overall in collegiate athletics.

These sales are spurred onward by Nike’s campaign that dropped immediately following Clark’s record-breaking game. Nike, who Clark has an endorsement with, released the slogan, “You break it, You own it” in regards to Clark breaking the scoring record.

These shirts were sold out at times and have had to require constant restocking as Iowa fans and fans of basketball around the world want a piece of history.
