Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Burnley miss a huge chance to take a step forward in the relegation battle, especially as Nottingham Forest as well as Luton Town both dropped points elsewhere. The Clarets missed a host of chances throughout, especially two great ones in the first half which ended goalless. While Burnley are battling relegation, Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton are still in contention for a spot in European competition next season after their maiden European campaign this season. The Seagulls are currently 10th in the league and a win could see them overtake Chelsea, even if only for the time being. Wins have been rare for Brighton of late though, with only one in their last six games.
