Buffalo Bills trade offensive lineman Cody Ford to the Cardinals
The Buffalo Bills have traded offensive lineman Cody Ford to the Arizona Cardinals, in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round selection.
Buffalo drafted Ford in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft, out of Oklahoma. He played in 16 games for the Bills as a rookie, making 15 starts, the bulk of which came at right tackle. In the seven games he played in during the 2020 campaign, Ford split time between the two guard positions. His season was cut short with a torn meniscus.
Ford bounced in and out of the lineup during the 2021 season, missing time due to COVID, as well as spending some time on the bench as the Bills shuffled their offensive line around.

Arizona is dealing with issues along their offensive line as well. Rookie Marquis Hayes has been dealing with a knee injury, and fellow guard Danny Isidora has been spotted with a walking boot as he also handles a lower-body injury. Reserve lineman Justin Murray has also been dealing with back and knee injuries.
Arizona likely views Ford as a potential depth option on the inside, as well as a potential swing tackle behind D.J. Humphries and Kelvin Beachum.
