Over the course of the next week or so, we will be taking a look at the Buffalo Bills newest rookie draft picks. Now up to bat today is the Buffalo Bills sixth round pick from this past NFL Draft, wide receiver Kolby Listenbee.

Bills Rookie Profile: Kolby Listenbee

The Player

A top performer at the NFL Combine during the 40-yard dash and the Broad Jump, Kolby Listenbee adds another deep threat to the Buffalo Bills roster. With Sammy Watkins confirmed to now be out through training camp, Listenbee should get an opportunity to prove both his speed and ball catching ability makes him a must have on the Bills roster.

Two seasons as a starting receiver for the TCU Horned Frogs, Kolby Listenbee has proven his vertical threat status. Likely entering the team as a potential fourth wide receiver for deep yardage plays, Listenbee should be able to work his way into the team the longer he is on the roster.

While pretty frail on size, Listenbee has a knack for going up and getting the ball. Given the skill he showcased in college with his ballhawking ability, expect Listenbee to gradually work his way up the depth chart and possibly contribute on special teams.

The School

An All-American sprinter for the Horned Frogs each of his four years in school, Listenbee has the speed needed to succeed in the NFL. Averaging 19.9 yards per catch last season for TCU, Listenbee recorded 30-receptions for just under 600 yards and five touchdowns.

Also adding into his college experience was the speed and ability he showed a sprinter for the Horned Frogs. Competing as a competitor 100-meter, 4×100 meter, and 4×400 meter dashes, Listenbee recorded a fast time of 10.03 seconds during a 100 meter run.

For comparison, the world record in the 100 meter dash is 9.58 seconds set by Usain Bolt. Quick on and off the football field, Listenbee will need to take advantage of his speed in the NFL much like he did in college in order to make an impact within the Bills organization.

The Position

There looks to be two areas that Kolby Listenbee could contribute at on the Buffalo Bills roster. A natural wide receiver, contributing at that position is a definite for his NFL future. His height, speed and ballhawking ability give him the talent needed to succeed as a receiver should he continue to develop.

Also an area Listenbee could contribute is special teams. Given his speed and track background, playing as kick or punt returner is definitely a possibility for Listenbee. The move would also allow him to make an immediate impact on the team this season.

The Tape

Depending on how well his development goes at the receiver position, the Buffalo Bills and their fans could be looking at another potential starter for the Buffalo Bills at wide receiver.
