Despite ending the season much sooner than anyone would have wanted, it is now time to turn our attention to most fans second most favorite time of year. The NFL Draft. For the Buffalo Bills, this will also be the first big strikes for Sean McDermott as he begins his tenure as the head coach in Buffalo.

In need of help on both sides of the football, the Buffalo Bills first round draft pick could be anyone’s guess at the moment. While the quarterback position looks to be sorted, the team is still in need of help at multiple positions including cornerback, wide receiver, and offensive line.

With the Draft now just over a month away, we are closing in on the second best part of the NFL year. With the combine now over, the realtick towards the draft has begun. So without further ado, we present week ten of the “Buffalo Bills potential first round draft picks.”

3. Jabrill Peppers — Safety — Michigan

Would this be a reach for the Buffalo Bills? Sure. That said, the Buffalo Bills need help in their secondary, potentially most so at the safety position. Bringing in an athletic talent like Peppers to help lead the group for years to come would be a smart move for this team. Considering his draft stock, the Bills would also have the chance to trade down and still end up selecting him.

With both Jamal Adams and Malik Hooker likely to be taken within the top seven picks, the Buffalo Bills would have to reach and select Peppers if they really value a player at his position. Given that reach that would have to occur, Peppers sits here at the number three spot on my list.

Despite all of that, few can argue against the pure athletic ability that Peppers possesses. Able to play safety, linebacker and as a return man in college, Peppers is the ultimate swiss army knife player. With the Bills retooling themselves this offseason, Peppers would be a solid addition and give Sean McDermott someone he can move around consistently on defense.

2. Marlon Humphrey — Cornerback — Alabama

As I said with the above pick, the Buffalo Bills secondary is in disarray at this stage. Needing both starters and depth, the Bills could do little wrong with selecting a cornerback or safety with this pick. Should they value any of the second or third round safeties, they could choose to go cornerback with this first round pick.

While Buffalo could trade down and still end up with a day one starter at cornerback, Marlon Humphrey is someone the Bills will take if they remain at pick number ten. At one point, he was seen as the number one cornerback in this class, but a recent stock loss seems to have brought him right into Buffalo’s first round wheelhouse.

Possessing some solid size and footwork, Humphrey is a player that will hardly ever be burned by NFL receivers. While he does have some issues playing the ball and preventing catches, most of these should come over short-to-medium yardage. Good at preventing separation, Humphrey should be a good choice for the Buffalo Bills.

1. Corey Davis — Wide Receiver — Western Michigan

Adding depth to the receiving corps this offseason, the Buffalo Bills are still in need of a second starter at the wide receiver position. With Sammy Watkins providing the deep speed option for quarterback Tyrod Taylor, the Bills could select a big and tall intermediate runner in Western Michigan’s Corey Davis.

While Davis did play for a smaller school at Western Michigan, the receiver is someone that should adapt nicely to the NFL. Given that he won’t have to be a number one upon his arrival in Buffalo, Davis will have an advantage in his development. With the presence of Watkins, Davis should also have a good rookie year as far as production goes.

Possessing the ability to play strong and tall when he is called upon makes Davis a real winner for the receiver needy Bills. A man among boys at Western Michigan, Davis should excel especially against some of the moderately sized NFL cornerbacks. If his overall game can be developed then he will eventually become a star player in this league.
