Buffalo Bills potential first round draft picks
Despite ending the season much sooner than anyone would have wanted, it is now time to turn our attention to most fans second most favorite time of year. The NFL Draft. For the Buffalo Bills, this will also be the first big strikes for Sean McDermott as he begins his tenure as the head coach in Buffalo.
In need of help on both sides of the football, the Buffalo Bills first round draft pick could be anyone’s guess at the moment. While the quarterback position looks to be sorted, the team is still in need of help at multiple positions including cornerback, wide receiver, and offensive line.
With the Draft now just over two weeks away, we are closing in on the second best part of the NFL year. So without further ado, we present week thirteen of the “Buffalo Bills potential first round draft picks.”

3. Cam Robinson — Offensive Tackle — Alabama
The Buffalo Bills have an upcoming issue along the offensive line. The average age of its starters continues to push higher and the talent is nowhere near what many thought it would be. With the opportunity to add both depth and talent in this draft class, the Bills could go offensive line with their first round pick.
Seen by many as the best offensive tackle in this draft class, Cam Robinson is someone that should give the Bills an improvement at the right tackle position on day one. Potentially able to shift across the left side down the line, Robinson will at least give the team youth and stability at the tackle position, something Buffalo needs to be successful on offense.
One area that does concern me though is Robinson’s inconsistency. While he can stop almost any pass rusher in college and the NFL, Robinson has been known to have consistency issues. If he brings this with him to the NFL, he could be more of a liability than a gift. However, if the coaches believe they can get that out of him, he will be a solid first round pick.
2. Marlon Humphrey — Cornerback — Alabama
Following the departure of Stephon Gilmore, the Buffalo Bills are in need of one new starting cornerback to pair with Ronald Darby. Given this need, the Bills could pursue options at the position with their first round pick. While Marlon Humphrey would have to fall a bit, it is not that far out of the realm of possibility that he could be taken by the Bills.
While Buffalo could trade down and still end up with a day one starter at cornerback, Marlon Humphrey is someone the Bills will take if they remain at pick number ten. At one point, he was seen as the number one cornerback in this class, but a recent stock loss seems to have brought him right into Buffalo’s first round wheelhouse.
Possessing some solid size and footwork, Humphrey is a player that will hardly ever be burned by NFL receivers. While he does have some issues playing the ball and preventing catches, most of these should come over short-to-medium yardage. Good at preventing separation, Humphrey should be a good choice for the Buffalo Bills.
1. Mike Williams — Wide Receiver — Clemson
Despite possessing a very worrisome past neck injury, Mike Williams was seen as this draft classes best wide receiver since day one. While that stock has fluctuated a bit with the rise of both Corey Brown and John Ross, Williams is now coming back to the top of the receiver chain and should be the first receiver taken in this draft.
An extremely talented wide receiver, Williams possesses all the traits that NFL experts look for. He has size, speed, quickness, route running and all kinds of other intangibles that experts look for in a future star receiver. Add to this that he wouldn’t have to do the heavy lifting by himself in Buffalo and Williams could be on for a great start to his NFL career.
Also of note is the Bills recent connection to Clemson. While Rex Ryan may be gone, that connection could have lasted just long enough for the team to fall in love with Mike Williams. Pairing him with former Clemson man Sammy Watkins at receiver, the Bills could possess one of the best young receiving cores in the league.
