Buffalo Bills could be free agency’s biggest losers this offseason
Seeing their fare share of big name free agents hit the open market, the Buffalo Bills look to be in a position this offseason to be free agency’s biggest losers. Expected to lose players like Stephon Gilmore, Marquise Goodwin and Robert Woods, the Buffalo Bills have not done anything as of yet to bring in any true replacement for these players.
So far this offseason, the Buffalo Bills have made a handful of signings. Those signings include fullback Patrick DiMarco, kicker Steven Hauschka, offensive guard Vladimir Ducasse, and running back Mike Tolbert. Three names that don’t carry any weight to them whatsoever. The biggest meaning of these three comes from the kicker thanks to his time with the Seahawks.

Tolbert also carries a reputation with him due to his small size but huge weight load. Initially reported by many as a full back signing, the Buffalo Bills themselves have called him a running back, leading some to believe that he could be the team’s goal line and short yardage back for next season.
Also signed was Vladimir Ducasse, who does carry a starting pedigree with him. In fact, Ducasse should be in contention for a starting guard position once the preseason roles around. The final player the Bills have signed so far is fullback Patrick DiMarco. Though he also has an impressive pedigree in this league, he is a fullback. Not really someone that’s going to be a difference maker.
Looking at the likely losses versus these gains, I would definitely say the the Buffalo Bills are one of the leagues biggest losers at this stage of free agency. Add into the scenario that the team also missed out on signing right tackle Ricky Wagner and the Bills look to be staring down an 0-2 count with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Did I forget to mention they are also down about ten runs?
Without any major signings to replace those currently departing Buffalo, the Bills look ill-prepared for next season. Still possessing a chance to turn this around in the coming days, the Bills need to start wrangling up some talented free agents or face another season of mediocrity and zero meaningful games in January.
