In this Mets news conference, manager Buck Showalter appreciates the hard work youngster Mark Vientos put into improving his agility this winter, something younger players don't always do. He complimented veteran lefthander Jose Quintana, calling him the "consummate pro" and that his strong reputation preceded him even before he signed with the Mets. Buck wanted no part of talking about the postseason in mid-February, calling the NL East division "daunting", and how hard it is just to earn a playoff berth.
