Bryce Young reportedly ‘impressive’ in top-30 interview with Panthers

When it comes to the Carolina Panthers and the 2023 NFL draft’s No. 1 overall pick, everything’s coming up crimson right now.

University of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young was in Charlotte on Tuesday for his top-30 visit. And Young, according to Will Kunkel of FOX Charlotte, did quite well during his interview with the team.

Young’s case to be picked first on the night of April 27 has gained a substantial amount of steam over the past week. After a handful of league insiders reported on his recent rise—a group that includes ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the Score’s Jordan Schultz and NBC Sports’ Peter King—the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner is now listed as the odds-on favorite, by multiple sportsbooks, to be selected by Carolina.

It’s also not a surprise that Young apparently killed the interview process today. Last week, former scout and NFL media analyst Daniel Jeremiah leaked that Young registered the highest C2 Cognition test score of the entire quarterback class.

In addition, he reportedly “blew away” Panthers head coach Frank Reich when talking football during the team’s pro day visit to Tuscaloosa.

Next up for interviews, with Young and Anthony Richardson wrapping up their visits over the past few days, is C.J. Stroud and Will Levis—who will both be in the building next Tuesday.
