Bruins recall G Svedberg from AHL

The Boston Bruins recalled goalie Niklas Svedberg from Providence of the AHL on Friday.

Svedberg, 24, is 11-5-3 with a 2.91 goals-against average and .907 save percentage this season. He is expected to back up Tuukka Rask. However, Chad Johnson and Svedberg are also on the roster and practiced Friday.

Svedberg won the Baz Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL's top goalie last season. He had 37 wins, four shutouts, a 2.17 goals-against average and .925 save percentage.

Svedberg was the first rookie named as the league's top goalie since Jim Carey in 1994-95.
