Browns IR Hardesty, awarded Hazel, Schmidt off waivers

The Cleveland Browns placed running back Montario Hardesty on injured reserve due to a knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery. Running back Dion Lewis is also on injured reserve with a broken leg.

The Browns were awarded linebacker Paul Hazell off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars and punter Colton Schmidt from the San Francisco 49ers.

Offensive tackle Chris Faulk was placed on the reserve-non-football injury list.

The Browns cut linebacker Kendrick Adams, offensive lineman Dominic Alford, wide receiver Dominique Croom, defensive lineman Nicolas Jean-Baptiste, fullback Owen Marecic, offensive lineman Ryan Miller and tight end Travis Tannahill..

The Browns are now down to 75 players.

On Monday, the Browns waived defensive back Vernon Kearney, defensive lineman Dave Kruger, wide receiver Cordell Roberson and linebacker Tommy Smith. The team also terminated wide receiver Jordan Norwood's contract and placed Lewis on injured reserve.
