Brooklyn Nets were never interested in trading Mikal Bridges to the Trail Blazers

The Brooklyn Nets have been linked to various teams when it comes to trades that could be beneficial for both sides. According to one prominent NBA insider, Brooklyn would only go so far to make any trade happen.

According to a recent article by Zach Lowe of ESPN, while the Nets were open to making a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers even if superstar Damian Lillard wasn’t involved, Brooklyn did not want to use Mikal Bridges to do it. Before Lillard made it clear that he wanted to play for only the Miami Heat, there were rumors that Portland was willing to deal guard Anfernee Simons and the third overall pick, later became guard Scoot Henderson, for Bridges.

Brooklyn has been bullish on Bridges ever since the former Villanova Wildcat came to the team as a result of the Kevin Durant trade. Bridges, 26, averaged 26.1 points per game while shooting 47.5% from the field and 37.6% from three-point land. Also, the fact that Bridges could be an All-Star soon and he’s owed just a little under $70 million over the next three seasons shows that he’s on a value deal as well.
