Broncos sent scouts to Caleb Williams’ pro day

The Denver Broncos continue to do their homework on the top quarterbacks entering the 2024 NFL draft.

After sending scouts to Oregon’s pro day last week to get a close look at quarterback Bo Nix, the Broncos had scouts at UCS’s pro day this week. The Trojans’ pro day, of course, was highlighted by quarterback Caleb Williams.

Sae Woon Jo, Denver’s Western national scout, stood at the line of scrimmage and watched each of Williams’ reps, just as he did at Nix’s pro day. You can see the scout standing up in a blue shirt in this video from NFL Plus:

Here are highlights from Williams’ pro day:

The Broncos will do their due diligence on all of the QBs in this year’s class, but they seem unlikely to land Williams in the draft. Denver coach Sean Payton has spoken glowingly about Williams in the past, but the Chicago Bears are widely expected to select the QB with their No. 1 overall pick in April.

The Broncos are not scheduled to pick until 12th overall and if Denver wants to select a top QB, the team will likely need to trade up. The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27.
