Broncos place QB Teddy Bridgewater on IR, make 15 other roster moves

The Denver Broncos placed three players on injured reserve and activated 13 players from COVID-19 lists on Wednesday, the team announced. Here’s a quick look at the team’s transactions.

QB Teddy Bridgewater placed on injured reserve

Bridgewater suffered a concussion in Week 15 and he missed the team’s last two games. He will now also miss the team’s season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. Bridgewater, 29, is scheduled to become a free agent in March.

Placed DB Kareem Jackson on injured reserve

Jackson, 33, is also scheduled to become a free agent in the spring. He is a fifth-alternate for the Pro Bowl among strong safeties in the AFC.

Placed LG Dalton Risner on injured reserve

Risner suffered an elbow injury on Sunday and he’ll need several weeks to recover. Netane Muti will likely start in Risner’s place in Week 18.

13 players activated from COVID-19 reserve

Denver activated DL McTelvin Agim, ILB Baron Browning, CB Bryce Callahan, OLB Bradley Chubb, OLB Jonathon Cooper, CB Mike Ford, WR Jerry Jeudy, OT Bobby Massie, WR Tim Patrick, NT Mike Purcell, DB Caden Sterns and OLB Stephen Weatherly from the Reserve/COVID-19 list to the 53-man roster.

The Broncos also activated WR Tyrie Cleveland from the Practice Squad/COVID-19 list back to the 16-player practice squad.

3 players remain on Reserve/COVID-19 list

After activating 13 players on Wednesday, the Broncos still have three players remaining on the Reserve/COVID-19 list: offensive tackle Calvin Anderson, kicker Brandon McManus and punter/holder Sam Martin.

Denver is hopeful that McManus and Martin will be cleared by Saturday.
