Broncos Outduel Dolphins, 39-36, in a Shootout
The Miami defense had no answer for Demaryius Thomas as he led the way to a close win for the Broncos over the Dolphins, 39-36, at home.
An outstanding game for Peyton Manning was topped off with four touchdowns on 28 of 35 passing for 257 yards and no interceptions. Ryan Tannehill did what he could to keep the Dolphins in the game, going 26 of 36 with 228 yards passing, four touchdowns (3 pass, 1 rush) and one pick.
C.J. Anderson was a key factor for the Broncos, running all over the Dolphins for 167 yards on 27 carries with a touchdown in addition to four receptions for 28 yards. Thomas was a weapon for the offense, catching 10 passes for 87 yards with three touchdowns.
The Denver defense allowed 97 yards rushing and 228 passing. They managed to get to Tannehill for one sack.
Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry provided some spark with 50 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Running back Lamar Miller also gave a strong effort with 59 rushing yards.
Next week, the Broncos travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs (7-4) while the Dolphins go to East Rutherford to play the Jets (2-8).
