Broncos are acquiring OLB Jacob Martin from Jets

The Denver Broncos struck a blockbuster deal with the Dolphins, sending Bradley Chubb to Miami for draft picks and Chase Edmonds. They then became buyers again by making a trade with another AFC East team.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Broncos are acquiring pass rusher Jacob Martin from the Jets. In exchange, Denver will give the Jets a fourth-round pick in 2024 but will also get back a fifth-rounder in 2024 with Martin.

So in essence, the Broncos moved back one round in the 2024 draft to acquire Martin.

Martin came into the NFL as a sixth-round pick in 2018 and became a starter in 2021, starting 14 games for New York. He had a career-high four sacks last season and has 1.5 sacks in eight games so far this season, though he hasn’t made a single start.

In five seasons, one with the Seahawks, three with the Texans and one with the Jets, Martin has 15 sacks in 69 career games.
