Boys soccer: Latest North Jersey Top 25 rankings with a battle for No. 1 on deck

The No. 1 ranking and a spot in the Bergen County championship will be on the line Saturday night at Ramapo.

Top-ranked Bergen Catholic takes on No. 2 Ramsey in a matchup between the last two unbeaten teams in the Big North.

No. 4 Ramapo and No. 5 Don Bosco square off in the other semifinal featuring two of the winningest coaches in North Jersey history – Evan Baumgarten of the Raiders and Roy Nygren of the Ironmen. They have 19 Bergen County titles between them and went head-to-head in five finals. The Ironmen moved up three spots this week in the North Jersey rankings behind a 2-0 quarterfinal victory over Tenafly.

A team from Wayne is guaranteed to make the Passaic County title game with No. 15 Passaic Tech hosting No. 16 Wayne Valley in the semifinals Saturday. No. 7 Pompton Lakes will look to clinch its first championship berth in 20 years when it heads to No. 3 Clifton. Both games are scheduled for 2 p.m.

One new team makes its debut in the rankings this week with Wayne Hills up to No. 21.
