BOYS BASKETBALL

Division I

Portsmouth 65, Cranston East 46

Kyle Bielawa and Adam Conheeny scored 22 and 21 points, respectively, helping Portsmouth roll to a win over Cranston East. Darien Peterson scored a team-high 14 points for the Thunderbolts and teammate Juel Goris scored 10.

Division II

Cranston West 50, Tiverton 44

Ryan Zarrella netted 13 points and Noah Germain nearly matched him with 12 to lead the Falcons (11-7) to a win over Tiverton (4-14). The Tigers' Elliot Pasquale led all scorers with 20 points.

Burrillville 59, Pilgrim 44

Nolan Serafin was on fire as he scored a game-high 31 points and and teammate Jordan Furtado knocked down 17 points, including three treys, as the Broncos upended the Patriots. Dylan Vale led Pilgrim in scoring with 13 points and Carter Clifton and Jack McConnell chipped in with 8 apiece.

Division III

Mount St. Charles 55, Scituate 40

A balanced scoring attack led by Manny Adeyeye and Peter Burke, who each scored 11 points, set the stage for the Mounties win over Scituate. Other contributions came from Michael Hebert, who scored 9 points, Michael Rizoli, with 8 points, and Tyler Dias, who knocked down 7. MSC will now be the seventh seed in the D-II playoffs. Andrew Freelove and Ryan Larch each had 11 points for the Spartans in the loss.

West Warwick 62, Juanita Sanchez 61

Four players — Dylan Viveiros (18 points), Owen Stearns (11), Caden Lapierre (11) and Jayden Hall (10) — scored in double figures and the Wizards (12-6) pulled out an upset victory over the Cavaliers (15-2). Kyle Delves poured in a game-high 25 points and Taurean Williams contributed 17  for Juanita Sanchez.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Division I

Bay View 39, Barrington 38

The top two teams in Division I-A battled it out on Friday night with the Bengals escaping with a hard-fought one-point victory. Ava Wasylow led the way with 16 points for Bay View, while Qiana Sumna and Amelia Polichetti each chipped in with 10. Isys Dunphy had 11 to lead the Eagles. Both teams are now tied with 15-3 records.

Division II

Cumberland 54, Prout 40

A solid outing by Bridget Vanetten (21 points) paved the way for Cumberland to race past Prout in the D-II crossover. Also contributing to the victory was Ally Casavant, who scored 9 points. Bella Del Sesto scored a team-high 10 points for the Crusaders.

Division III

Toll Gate 58, Burrillville 43

Despite the efforts of Burrillville's Ava Ayotte, who poured in a game-high 28 points, Toll Gate had strong outings from Adeline Areson (23 points, 14 rebounds), Amanda Preston (10 points, 8 rebounds) and Dulce Garcia (13 points) as the Titans rolled to victory over the Broncos.

BOYS HOCKEY

Division I

Smithfield 2, Moses Brown 1, OT

Jacob Hopkins scored with 3:08 left in overtime, and Jacob Sylvester finished with a goal and assist, as they lifted the Sentinels to victory.  Sylvester had given Smithfield (7-3-3) the lead with a goal with 13:04 left in the second period, but Jeff Larson tied it for the Quakers (3-10) with 4:48 to go in the third. Moses Brown goalie Ed Alessandro finished with 32 saves while Matt Bradley had 18 for Smithfield.
