Boston’s Marcus Smart gets a West Virginia player T’d up from the stands of an Oklahoma State game

Veteran Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart is so good at getting under the skin of opposing players, he can evidently do it without being on the floor — or even on the roster — of his collegiate alma mater, Oklahoma State University. In a recent contest between OSU and West Virginia the Celtics star was in attendance for, Smart got into it from the stands with one of the Mountaineers, Erik Stevenson.

After, Stevenson hit 3 straight 3-pointers and made a lewd gesture toward the crowd. Asked after the game how Smart managed to elicit that lewd gesture with his verbal exchange from the stands, OSU head coach Mike Boynton, Jr. said (via MassLive’s Brian Robb) “I wasn’t really aware I was so locked into the game.”

“Thank you, Marcus,” he added. “Another assist for Oklahoma State.”

The Flower Mound native was drafted out of OSU with the sixth overall pick in 2014, bringing his trademark intensity from the Cowboys to the Celtics.

he has since made a name for himself with his ability to get into the heads of opponents with the defensive skills to back up his psyops that has the OSU alum among the most feared defenders in the league.
