Boston College decommit, a 2024 strong safety, gets USC offer

Desman Stpehens backed off his commitment to Boston College at the beginning of October and has quietly grown to be one of the most coveted uncommitted recruits from the Midwest. The Clarkston (Michigan) standout quickly became a priority target for plenty of Power Five schools.

Stephens has offers from USC, Purdue, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Michigan State, Duke and Air Force as well.

The three-star athlete had 61 total tackles, five tackles for a loss and three interceptions last season starting at linebacker and safety. He projects as a strong safety at the next level.

Stephens is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound Michigan native. He is ranked No. 481 nationally, ninth in the state of Michigan, and the No. 32 athlete in the 2024 class. USC needs players it can plug into different positions. The Trojans need help in their secondary. They need dynamic athleticism. Stephens checks all of those boxes and would be a definite value add to the USC roster.
