Are the Boston Celtics a better team after their offseason moves?

Is this iteration of the Boston Celtics a better ball club after their controversial offseason moves by the team’s front office to trade away not only veteran point guard Marcus Smart and backup big man Mike Muscala but also reserve forward Grant Williams for Kristaps Porzingis and draft assets?

There have been some strong opinions foisted through the NBA media sphere this offseason in both directions, with some pointing to the identity of the team taking a big hit with nothing certain in the works while others suggest a style change was critical for the team’s title hopes for 2024.

Among them is Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, who recently made an appearance on the NBC Sports Boston’s “Arbella Early Edition” show to talk it over while he evaluated whether the current club is an improvement over last year’s team.
