Boston alum Tremont Waters signs with CBA’s Guangdong Southern Tigers
Former Boston Celtics two way point guard Tremont Waters, drafted by the team in 2019, has recently signed a contract with the Chinese Basketball Association’s (CBA) Guangdong Southern Tigers in China according to recent reporting from HoopsHype’s Alberto De Roa. This move comes after recent stints playing abroad for Puerto Rico’s Gigantes De Carolina, and France’s Metropolitans 92 alongside rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama.
Waters last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season, where he made appearances for both the Toronto Raptors and the Washington Wizards after leaving the Celtics in free agency, putting up 3.3 points, 1.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
The Connecticut native also had brief stints with the Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee’s developmental affiliate) and the South Bay Lakers (Los Angeles’ G League affiliate) before he elected to head overseas in 2022.
With training camp just weeks away, the order of the NBA’s Eastern Conference is coming into focus. https://t.co/2PFXhTDDJ2
