Approximately 18 hours after collecting a thrilling overtime victory against Minot, the Jamestown High School boys hockey team was back on the ice at Wilson Arena.

But this time, it didn't go as they would have hoped.

The Blue Jays dropped 4-2 to Williston to fall to 6-7-0 in the West Region standings while overall the squad stands at 6-8-0. Jamestown will be back in action on Jan. 25 with a nonconference tilt against Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Kent Freeman Arena in Detroit Lakes.

While they didn't come out on top, it was Jamestown who took an early lead against Williston on Saturday.

The squad came back from a 1-0 deficit to take a 2-1 lead early in the second period. Tyson Jorissen netted the Blue Jays' first goal of the afternoon at the 7:20 mark of the first period. Jackson Maddock then gave the Jays the lead with a score coming at 7:17 in the second frame.

Williston's offense strung together three more goals in the last one-and-a-half periods to ice the game. Jamestown's Louis Kjellberg recorded 25 saves in between the pipes while Williston's Bode Ekblad recorded 31 stops for the Coyotes.
