Blue Jays Roundup: Soccer scores five to win fifth-straight

Sep. 5—JAMESTOWN — Things at Rotary Field seem to be going well so far this fall.

The Jamestown High School soccer team topped Mandan 5-0 to earn their fifth straight win and improve their record to 5-0-1. The squad will be back at Jamestown's Rotary Field on Thursday hosting No. 1 ranked Bismarck Legacy.

Henry Yolain had a breakout game on Tuesday, scoring the Jays' first goal just 15 seconds into regulation. He then doubled down and scored his second in the ninth minute. Both of Yolain's goals were assisted by Iddi Ramadhahi. Brady Harty capped off the first-half scoring in the 11th minute.

Carter Genter and Connor Traut found the back of the net in the second half. Jamestown's Grant Lunde pitched his second-straight shutout. Lunde had eight saves.

The Blue Jays outshot the Braves 18-8.

"The boys played very well tonight for 80 minutes," JHS head coach Brandi Harty said. "They were creative and very dynamic in the attacking third. Also, our defense put on a solid performance in the back. I am so proud of how they stayed connected as a team."
