BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 3, FLOYD CENTRAL 0: Three second-half goals from Joe DeGiorgio (two) and Landon Ryner win it on the road for No. 12 Panthers (7-1).

BLOOMINGTON NORTH 0, MOORESVILLE 0: Cougars (6-3-2) go scoreless for third time this year and post third shutout of year to draw with Pioneers (2-5-1).

EDGEWOOD 0, SOUTH VERMILLION 0: Mustangs (3-4-1) settle for tie.

Boys' tennis

JASPER INVITATIONAL: No. 9 Jasper won with 55 points while No. 23 North and No. 25 South tied for second with 29 points each. South had the lone area champion as Alex Busch took the No. 2 singles title. North had a pair of runner-up finishes from its doubles teams. Seth Force and Casey McIntyre went 2-1, opening with a 7-5, 6-2 win over South's Evan Kantor and Ethan Peyton, then followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Castle before falling to the host WIldcats, 6-3, 6-2. At No. 2 doubles, Esteban Crespo and Ben Konisky scored two quick wins before a tough 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 loss to Jasper's duo in the finals. In singles, Brady Murphy was third at No. 2 (winning his final 6-4, 7-5), Paul Macy fourth at No. 3 and Connor O'Guinn lost his opener then won the next two for fifth.

EDGEWOOD INVITATIONAL: Edgewood split the day, winning a tougher rematch with Owen Valley 4-1 before falling to Mooresville in an unexpectedly heated match, 4-1, with the Pioneers taking two third-set tiebreakers. In the opener vs. OV: 1S. Andrew Paul won 6-4, 7-6(5); 2S. Mitch Deckard lost 6-2, 1-6, (10-6); 3S. Carter Cheaney won 6-1, 6-2. 1D. Quinn Norris/Dane Weisner won 6-3, 6-3; 2D. Dannie Chandler/Austin Nunn won 7-5, 6-2. In the final, 1S. Paul lost 6-2, 3-6, (10-5); 2S. Deckard lost 7-5, 6-2; 3S. Cheaney won 6-3, 6-1. 1D. Norris/Weisner fell 6-1, 5-7, (10-6), 2D. Chandler/Nunn lost 6-4, 7-5.

Volleyball

LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN 3, CHRISTIAN ACADEMY OF MADISON 2: Lions (9-4, 3-1) pulled out a Southern Roads Conference thriller, 27-25, 25-18, 16-25, 22-25, 15-6. Friday, Sept. 8

Football

OWEN VALLEY 40, EDGEWOOD 6: Patriots (2-2, 1-1 WIC) led just 14-6 midway through the third before breaking it open with three quick touchdown runs, two by Kyvan Bandy and another by Elijah Anderson to win their third straight in the series. Edgewood falls to 1-3, 0-1.

EASTERN GREENE 41, MITCHELL 14: T-Birds (2-2) scored the game's first 41 points by halftime and cruised to win their first back-to-back games since 2018. First time since 2017 Eastern has posted 30-plus points in consecutive games. James Lewis ran just 11 times for 181 yards and four TDs. Peyton Lewis and Jonah Hawk also ran for scores. Evan Rogers and Lane Stephens each with an interception for the defense.

Volleyball

LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN 3, HORIZON CHRISTIAN 0: After a heart-stopping second set, Lions (8-4) roar to a sweep, 25-18, 25-23, 25-2 win on the road. LCA fired 21 aces. Match stats at MaxPreps.

Thursday, Sept. 7

Volleyball

EDGEWOOD 3, OWEN VALLEY 0: Mustangs (14-3, 3-1 WIC) have no problems with their rivals in a 25-12, 25-12, 25-13 rout over the Patriots (5-5, 4-2).

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 5, TERRE HAUTE SOUTH 0: Panthers (6-2-1) move to 2-0 in CI play with huge win, handing Braves (8-1-1, 3-1) first loss. THS had given up just eight goals all season. Annalise Coyne with a brace, Helena Cutshall with hat trick and Paloma LaBathe with a clean sheet in goal.

BLOOMINGTON NORTH 0, TERRE HAUTE NORTH 0: Fourth time the Cougars (5-3-2, 0-1-1) post a shutout this season. And fourth time they've been shutout.

Boys' soccer

EDGEWOOD 2, BROWN COUNTY 1: Mustangs (3-3, 2-2 WIC) win third in a row as Luke Cool scores twice, including the game-winner in the final two minutes.

Tuesday, Sept. 5

Volleyball

BLOOMINGTON NORTH 3, TERRE HAUTE NORTH 1: Cougars (6-3, 1-1) fight through a tough match for the Conference Indiana home win, 25-23, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19.

TERRE HAUTE SOUTH 3, BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 0: Panthers (5-10, 1-2) drop a tough Conference Indiana home match by just 11 points, 25-21, 26-24, 25-20. Match stats at MaxPreps.

EDGEWOOD 3, EASTERN GREENE 0: Mustangs (13-3) roll 25-11, 25-14, 25-16 as T-Birds fall to 4-9.

Amara Hanson and Boston Chambers each fired 50s to pace Edgewood, while Ashton Sessions had a 52, Addie Hash a 53, Ava Norton a 55 and Megan Hancock a 57.
