NHL Three Stars: Nash gets hatty in OT; Stamkos downs Ducks; shutouts for everyone

No. 1 Star: Rick Nash, New York Rangers

Nash and teammate Mats Zuccarello picked up 3 points each in the Rangers overtime win against the Florida Panthers. The Cats made a 2 goal comeback in the final three minutes of the third period to force overtime. It would be Nash who played the hero. He scored the OT goal on the power play to cap off the hat trick in the game:

No. 3 Star: The Sedins, Vancouver Canucks

Yeah, it's cheating, but at one point they were essentially one person before the cells split. Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin combined for 9 points in the Canucks 6-3 victory against the Blackhawks. Per Thomas Drance, Henrik recorded the first 5-point game of his career. Daniel notched a hat trick:

No. 2 Star: Steven Stamkos, Tampa Bay Lightning

Judging by the Lightning's 5-0 beatdown of the Anaheim Ducks, non-puck heads might be surprised to learn Tampa has struggled at times to score this season. Stammer picked up goals 10 and 11 against struggling Ducks. Goal number 10 was a signature Stamkos scorcher:

Honorable Mention: Zdeno Chara's third goal of the season scored in the third period would stand as the game winner for the Bruins over Toronto. Tuukka Rask made 22 saves in the shutout ... Bobby Ryan extended his current scoring streak to 8 games with 2 assists against Philadelphia. Craig Anderson held the Flyers scoreless on 36 shots ... Goals by Aleksander Barkov and Jaromir Jagr tied the game against the Rangers before dropping it in overtime:

... Tampa was 2-for-4 on the power play against the Ducks and their No. 1 penalty kill in the league (at least they have that going for them). Ben Bishop followed in the shutout trend making all 30 saves  ... Congrats to Patrick Marleau for scoring is 1000th NHL point on an assist to set up a Brent Burns goal. Technically he scored his 1001st point on another assist on another Burns goal in the Sharks 3-1 win over the Penguins ... Seven different Capitals scored goals in Washington's 7-3 pumeling of Colorado. One the of the goal scorers was the magical Dmitry Orlov. Jason Chimera and Evgeny Kuznetsov picked up 3 points each against the Avs ... Chris Thorburn scored a short-handed goal for the Winnipeg Jets that stood to be the game winner:

... Pavel Datsyuk earned his first goal of the season on a nifty snipe between the arm and leg pad of Jake Allen. Vladimir Tarasenko tied the game with 2:10 left in the third to send it into overtime. Detroit's Teemu Pulkkinen sniped the game winner past Allen in OT ... Jamie Benn reclaimed the goal scoring lead at 14 with two tallies against the Buffalo Sabres; Tyler Seguin assisted on both goals. Evander Kane returned to the Buffalo lineup for the first time since Oct. 24. Antti Niemi collected a shutout making all 22 saves over the Sabres ... Ryan Suter had a goal and two assists in the Wild's 4-0 drubbing of the Nashville Predators. Devan Dubnyk was yet another goaltender on the evening to earn a shutout. Minnesota's power play went 2-for-4 ... Patrick Kane extended his scoring streak to 16 games with an assist on Artem Anisimov's game tying goal before the Sedins took over ending the game 6-3. In the losing effort, Jonathan Toews scored a beauty on the power play to open the game's scoring:

Dishonorable Mention: Brad Marchand went knee-to-knee with Leo Komarov and starts to scrap with James van Riemsdyk before the official literally dives in:

... Scott Laughton played only 23-seconds against Ottawa before being boarded by Alex Chiasson. Sam Gagne went after Chiasson to defend his teammate's honor. Chiasson only received 5 minutes for fighting. Gagne earned 5 for fighting, 10 minute game misconduct, and two minutes for instigating ... Ducks were without Hampus Lindholm who is day-to-day with upper-body injury ... Ondrej Pavalec left the game after colliding with Shane Doan. Doan said it was an accident. You be the judge:

Calvin Pickard did slightly better letting in 3 goals on 21 shots ...  Mike Ribeiro received a game misconduct 1:21 into the third period for sassing the officials.
