Michael Hutchinson slammed in helmet popping collision (Video)

Michael Hutchinson slammed in helmet popping collision (Video)

That. Looked. Painful. Predators forward Gabriel Bourque completely slammed into Winnipeg goaltender Michael Hutchinson – with a bit of a soft push from Adam Lowry on Saturday night in Nashville. Oof.

Check out the video:

Hutchinson stayed down for a couple of minutes and was looked at by a trainer. And he stayed in the game. Look at Hutchinson clutching his head after the play. Is that not cause for alarm? He didn't go to a quiet room or off the ice for any brief moment.

Said coach Paul Maurice after the game, "He gets a pretty good knock into the crease there. We had Pavs stretching because I thought with the force of that hit, he was coming out, but he went back in and was just fantastic."

Hutchinson ended up stopping 20 of 21 Predators shots on goal in a 3-1 Jets win over struggling Nashville.

As for Bourque, no penalty was called, and there probably shouldn’t have been one since he was pushed. Sadly we were not treated to seeing Ondrej Pavelec’s Bruce Springsteen themed mask.

Goalies like him were born to save … or sit in this game. In other news, Ondrej Pavelec is a Springsteen fan? Is there a German goaltender who can make a David Hasselhoff themed mask?
