Notre Dame chimes in with Rudy tweet in response to Penn State
Penn State probably didn't see this coming from Notre Dame.
The university tweeted about a police dog named Rudie on Wednesday. So, naturally, Notre Dame took the opportunity to reference the iconic (and possibly overrated) movie about Notre Dame football when it saw Penn State's tweet.

@penn_state @PennStatePolice That's an awesome name for a dog! We prefer the spelling 'Rudy,' though!

You're reading a college football blog, so you remember the movie, right? It's about Rudy Ruettiger who works to get into Notre Dame and plays a game for the school. We don't need to keep explaining it. We'll let Penn State's response back take it from here.
@NotreDame @PennStatePolice Maybe, if the dog was offsides.

There's a belief that Rudy was offside when he got his sack in the movie. SB Nation does a good job of debunking the thought here because he didn't induce the offensive lineman across from him to move. But either way, we appreciate Penn State's wittiness. Thinking of that tweet within six minutes of Notre Dame's reply is some quick-thinking.
